Oh hey, there. Name's Sarah, and I'm an artist currently aspiring to be a voice actor. I love animation, comics, music, books, dance....basically anything that tells a story. Also If you came seeking Christmas-colored alien/robot sexytiems art, you're in the right place. Enjoy. |
Alright, so we’ve gotten a slew of new info today regarding some of the decisions that went into canceling Green Lantern: The Animated Series (and most likely by extension, Young Justice).
1) Toys. The GL movie didn’t do well, the toys didn’t do well. (So of course that means toys for something related but completely different will fail. Riiiight.)
2) WB had the biggest role to play in GLTAS’s cancelation. Apparently, CN actually liked the direction the show was going in, but WB again went with the failed success of the movie to base its decision on.
3) iTunes/DVD sales weren’t/aren’t high enough for them.
So what can we take away from this?
We need to be contacting WB just as much as we are contacting Cartoon Network.
Start sending the letters and packages you sent in to CN headquarters to WB as well. Make sure you mention that you’d like to buy merchandise. If someone could get the address we should be sending things to, that would be great. I have no idea how this works. lol
Tweet to WB everyday, and during the campaign on Saturday.
Email WB: http://www.warnerbros.com/help/customer-service.html (I just chose “Other”)
Comment on WB’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/warnerbrosent?fref=ts
BUY THE EPISODES ON ITUNES, BUY THE DVDS, BUY THE SOUNDTRACK, BUY THE TOYS. I know we’re not made of money, but if there are things you can cut back on (smoking, sweets, going out to eat, etc), you’ll be able to save up enough to buy a few of these things. Ask for them for gifts if you have a birthday coming up! Get them as gifts for friends and family!
Of course, this doesn’t mean you should stop contacting CN. Keep up the pace for both companies, and someone with the right connections is bound to notice.
Mattel is also the company to contact about toys and merchandise.
Even if we don’t get the shows back as shows, there’s still a chance we could potentially get them back as direct-to-video releases or comics or online series. So we CANNOT let our efforts wane now. We need to keep pestering these people until something happens.
Can’t remember if I reblogged this already, but it’s worth hearing again.
What frustrates me the most about this is that I couldn’t buy the episodes if I wanted to. They’re not available in...
